Diabetic Neuropathy

Diabetic neuropathy is a fancy way of saying that if you have diabetes for lots of years it affects the nerves. Usually the first obvious sign is your feet start to feel as if you are "walking on cotton wool". Later on your feet can become painful, with an electrical, burning, or "jellyfish sting" like pain.
The best way to prevent and treat diabetic neuropathy is to treat the underlying diabetes extremely well. But if you get diabetic neuropathy anyway, there are a whole bunch of treatment options. These are described in this "Up To Date" Diabetic Neuropathy Information Sheet "
And for more information about "Up To Date" itself please see the "Up To Date" link here.
